Just thirty miles north of New York City, in the quiet little town of Pearl River, one can find Defiant Brewing Company. Defiant has been around for seven years and has something to offer everyone. They are easily found and are located right near a railroad station for those looking for alternate transportation to get there. Water Street Brewing Company, Binghamton, NY

Located in downtown Binghamton, NY is Water Street Brewing Company. Not only is it currently the only operating brewery you can visit in Binghamton; but they also serve a fine array of food, using fresh local ingredients. The North Brewery, Endicott, NY

Drive down Washington Avenue in Endicott, NY and you will pass various shops, restaurants, banks, a movie theater and more. It seems like a neighborhood that is in the midst of a revitalization project. Across from a Florist whose façade stepped out of the 1970’s (or perhaps even earlier!) is The North Brewery. What started as a homebrew shop in July of 2012 has blossomed into a full scale brewery with its grand opening this past February. The brewery is run by Zach, his father Eric, and their brew partner Joe. Eric had been homebrewing for 25 years before he and Zach decided to move into the public eye. Continue reading

An Introduction…

The other night I was at a picnic with some old and new friends. We got to discussing one of their blogs that offers a unique and interesting slant on spiritual locations around western NY. I mentioned that I had a passion for visiting small breweries, wineries, and more whenever I travel. Having been to over 300 such locations, I wanted to share my thoughts on them and get other people excited about what is being created, sometimes right under our noses!
